The IEAM associate researchers explain how changes in countries of origin and transit help us understand events in Ceuta. Their analysis warns that restricting routes can redirect movement and increase migrants’ vulnerability.

They call for stronger anticipation grounded in field knowledge and community participation, investment in opportunities for young people, and expanded pathways for legal mobility and humanitarian protection.
