Migration policy in Spain: a dialogue with political parties

A space to explore proposals and compare responses

The Spanish Institute for Migration Analysis (IEAM) is organising a meeting with representatives of the main political parties to discuss their immigration policy proposals. The initiative aims to encourage a rigorous conversation about Spain’s migration policy priorities, the challenges of implementation and possible areas of agreement between the parties.

Through a moderated dialogue, each representative will be able to present their party’s proposals and explain how they intend to put them into practice. The aim is to examine specific measures, their implications and the conditions needed for implementation. The session will conclude with a brief discussion with the audience.

Topics for discussion

  • Border management and legal pathways
  • The labour market and regularisation
  • The asylum and reception systems
  • Support for unaccompanied minors
  • Integration and living together
  • Coordination between public administrations
  • Cooperation with the European Union and countries of origin and transit

Meeting format

  1. Presentation of the participating parties’ priorities and proposals.
